Bailey retruns from Europe.

I think Bailey enjoyed her trip immensely. She has told us she wants to go back and can be our tour guide if we wish to go back with her. They traveled to alot of places in the 15 days she was gone. Her group wasn't as adventerous as others they were with, so she friended some of the kids from SC and FL, and did alot of things with them.

Peach Pie.

 Before
 During
After

Found this recipe in Southern Living this month and decided it needed to be made. After Rieley and I went to movie time at the library, we drove to Seminole, 30 minutes away and bought peaches at a farmer's market. It took awhile to make, but hoping it is worth it. Smells really yummy, hoping it tastes yummy too.

Fire Safety at the Library and some fun too.

Wednesday afternoon, Rieley and I went back to our local library for our local volunteer fire fighters to teach some fire safety. Rieley thought it was all great until the guys alarm went off when he didn't move and he let it get really loud. Fireman Buddy, who showed up in jeans, big belt buckle, cowboy boots and hat, then put on all of his equipment for the kids. There were lots of kids there, so it got a little loud but
Rieley learned the Stop Drop and Roll idea and some other safety tips. After they were done with their prexentation, they took the kids outside and let them play in the water from the fire hoses, as it was a little hot outside, about 98 degrees. Rieley is the one upfront with her ears covered, if I wasn't taking pictures, mine would have been covered too.

Father's Day 2011

Tim enjoyed Father's Day this year, I think. It started off with sleeping in until 7 a.m. , which is unheard of for him. Then him and Tanner, headed to the golf course to play a round of golf. After golf, he came home and had a few cold ones a nap and then dinner. While they were golfing, Rieley and I, went to church, made a Pig Pickin Cake and some chocolate chip cookies.
For dinner, daddy barbequed some ribeye steaks on the grill, while I did all of the other fixings. Then we had cake for dessert.
Rieley helped dad open his presents and finish the puzzle he was working on. We got Tim, a machine that will turn our old video tapes into DVD's, which will be nice to have.
Overall, daddy aka tim, had a good day.

Our night at the library.

During the summer, our local library puts on an awesome reading program for all kids. Rieley loves going to the library and loves books. So, we go on Tues for Mommy and Me crafts, Wed is storyhour and a short movie, and thurs is Movie Time. Well, while we were at story hour on Wed, Marylou the storyhour lady as rieley calls her, was talking about the bats they had at the library and even showed us a video she had taken of them coming out the previous night. And, the book she read was called, Bats at the Library> So, after daddy went to bed Wed night, Rieley and I headed to the library back parking lot to see if we could catch sight of the bats. About 9:05 or so, they started coming out a few at a time then like 20 or more would fly out. After they all came out, we hope they all got out, the county sealed off the opening. They were messing and stinking up the library with all of their droppings. So, who knows where they will make their home now, but it won't be the library.

Bailey preparing for her 15 day Europe trip.

Bailey has been looking forward to this trip for almost a year now, and it is finally here. The kids were told they were going carryon only. Have no idea how she did it but she got 15 days worth of clothes in that suitcase, plua an extra duffle bag to carry home souvenirs, plus a backpack. They left yesterday morning, from Midland. We dropped them off at the airport at 1130am, there flight left at approx 130pm for Houston. They were about 30 minutes late getting into Houston, so they were running to their nexy=t plane, only to find out that is was delayed almost 2 hours. They finally arrived in Amsterdam at about 9 am Tues morning. We received a text from Bailey at 2:50 a.m. saying they had landed safely and were heading towards baggage claim and then onto a dayful of sightseeing.
We use Verizon, which does not work in Europe. So, we bought here an international phone at Target for her to use, only to find out once she was in Europe it didn't work. It works calling to Europe from the US but not the other way around. So, when she returns we will be returning the phone and Target had better refund the money. If not, Target will no longer have my business. The 2 workers who sold the phone to us, evidently need to find a job where they know something about what they sell. Not a happy momma, with no way to communicate with her girl on the other side of the world.

Return trip to Ft Worth

The girls headed to Ft Worth for another doctors appt for Bailey. We left on a Wed, had the appt on Thurs and came home on Fri. While we were there we took in Kung Fu Panda 2, ate at Pei Wei(really good food), went to build a bear again(Rieley needed some kind of reward for riding there and back and 2 and a half hours in the doctors office), met the Mason's at the Children's Museum, did the doctors visit and then came home.
Only to find out that we will have to go back for 2 more tests, an EMG of her right arm and and MRI of her shoulder to see if there are tears which the dr thinks he sees, plus 2 doctors appts. We will head over on the 4th of July, appts all day on the 5th and come home on the 6th. Hoping to catch some fireworks on the 4th once we get there, as long as they aren't too far from our hotel.

The kids had a lot of fun at the museum, playing in the grocery store, ambulance area, bubbles, train, dinosaur dig(it was too hot to spend much time outside) and the oil rig area. Sure wish we had something like this closer than 5 hours, but we did enjoy our time there.
Plan on meeting the Mason's for dinner on the 5th after all of our appts.
